I have been down from surgery and my family thought it would be a treat to get my hair done for my anniversary. I called and ask for price on partial highlights they said it would be $75. Then when I sat in the chair and asked she said it would be $100. Ok but then in the end I was charged $210 for what didn't look like what I asked for & I was there almost 5 hours?!?!?!?
I am a long time customer of this Salon. I have been coming here even after I moved to Chicago . The quality is great but this particular visit they decided to almost DOUBLE the price without my knowledge. I have never spent more than $120 for my hair previous visits- I asked for the same style - hair color I normally get.
Needless to say I am very disappointed and will not be returning to this Salon even after years of returning.
When I asked why my price was so high in comparison to every other visit I've had , the management was snobby and did not have a legitimate explanation or apology, instead she brought out a list from all of my appointments for what reason? I don't know. They did not do a "cut and style" on my hair seeing that I've never even got a hair cut besides my dead ends.
If they can transform my hair to look this amazing, they can transform yours too! The Color Room fit me in exactly when I wanted, and everyone there - reception, owner, my colorist, and my hair stylist - made me feel welcome, and excited about my ideas on what I wanted to do. Professional, welcoming, and skilled is how I would describe the staff. Amazing job and less than I expected to pay for the services I received. Thank you so much! I will be back!!
I called today and Pam was surprised and obviously did not get or chose to ignore my message. She thought she had me on hold and rambled on about me and that I just wanted money back. That's right! Then goes on to tell me they put a toner on me. Boy those toner products must be super expensive, yeah sure they are! Well, it didn't work since my hair looks gray and I never asked for a toner nor was I made aware that I would be charged for that. I went for a TREAT and got a TRICK instead that cost me $210 and it's not even Halloween! Never again!!!! Not me!!! Other businesses have to be upfront about their charges and so should The Color Room - Bad business practice! :(
Horrible!!!! Get ready to shovel out and pay double. Don't count on their little web, price booklet prices or even hold on to their quote on site because that doesn't hold any more weight either! My partial highlights look like gray instead of blonde Grrrr but just empty your wallet at the counter on your way out!
This is a "Chicago" quality salon in Northwest Indiana. I have been a client for years. I read a review about the prices - are you kidding me? Go to Chicago for these services and you will pay double! The staff is professional, well-trained and they explain your options. I want healthy hair that looks great. I see so many bad color jobs or over-processed damaged hair that makes people look older and sick. Choose wisely and see true professionals. I will never go anywhere else but the Color Room!
Now this is not a new style for me. I had my hair partial highlighted at other salons and NEVER got charged this much! I explained this to the lady at the counter and was told they could not change it. However, they could have the manager call me on Tuesday because only she could change it. Ok well they didn't even bother to call me at all.
