My first time going there and I wasn't disappointed! The guy checking out my groceries asked me how my day was going and if I was going to go enjoy the weekend. He actually took an interest in my life- first time a worker has ever greeted me that way. Not to mention they gave me great coupons which no store has ever gave me.
Nice selection. Plenty of cashiers (no self-checkouts that takes peoples' jobs). The cashiers and management actually search around to help ring you out quickly. The only thing I don't like about Jewel is the split aisles, makes things hard to find. I used to think they were too expensive, but they're not and.they always have great sales.
The manager isn't the nicest, he seems bothered when us lowly customers approach him... And sometimes the people that work customer service act like rain checks come out of their pockets. Mary (cust svc) and Dennis (grocery) are nice though. And yes, they put limits on certain sale items, but you could literally buy the limit, put it in the car come back and get it again. So I can't understand why some of them get these stank attitudes if you just want to spare yourself the trips and make a couple of separate purchase. I wish they would bring the self checkout lanes back so I could bypass the people with attitude... they ruin my shopping experience :(
Water filler works about 50% of the time. It is filthy and hasn’t been cleaned since September! Doing my thanksgiving day shopping at Meijer.
Jewel is overall a great quality grocery store. However, I'm not too fond of most of the employees here. Starting with the bakery, no one acts as if you're even standing there when you need service. They'll just look up and continue with what they're doing without even acknowledging you until some odd minutes later. Secondly, I really hate how there are so many restrictions on what/how you would like your cake to be...I'd rather just go to a non grocery store bakery for special cake needs...just ridiculous. Probably will be first and last time getting a cake from here.
